Post op Care

Post treatment care plays an important role in getting the desired results after getting the Wrinkles Remover. Here is a list of most important care instructions:

  • Remain upright for 4 hours after injection (you may lie in a reclined position, just do not lay flat)
  • Exaggerate facial expressions in injected areas for 1 hour after injection
  • Do not wear a headband or hat where the band goes across your forehead if you have had injections between the brows or in the forehead
  • Refrain from aerobic exercise that increases your heart rate greatly
  • Do not massage or manipulate injected areas for 24 hours after injections.
  • Refrain from using ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil supplements, or vitamin E for 24 hours following injection
  • If bruising appears, apply ice to area for 15 minutes every hour to decrease bruising
  • The most common side effect is headache with Wrinkles Remover injections. If you are a chronic headache sufferer and have prescription headache medication, you may take it as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Wrinkles Remover will gradually take effect over 7-10 days with optimum result at 2 weeks.  If this is your first Wrinkles Remover injection, we recommend scheduling a follow up appointment 2 weeks after your injection.

Botox injections are relatively painless as the injections are performed using a very fine needle. Patients therefore and do not require any anesthesia. The full treatment takes about 15-20 minutes to perform and you are able to drive and go to work the same day.

It can take about 2-14 days to see the full effects after the initial treatment. The cosmetic effects can last up to six months but typically range from three to four months. Eventually most people require re treatment as the wrinkles reappear.

Most people find that the injections cause only mild local pain and tenderness. Immediately after the injection there may be mild swelling at the injection site which usually subsides within 48 hours.  Slight bruising is also possible.  Side effects of these treatments are extremely rare.  Occasionally, the treatment may relax nearby muscle groups causing temporary drooping of the eyebrow or eyelids.  This may last for a few weeks but will resolve with time. As with any medicine an allergic reaction may occur, this is however quite rare.  Conversely there may be some unintended benefits in some people such as easing of tension type headaches as the muscles in the forehead relax.

When the effect of the Wrinkles Remover injection wears off the wrinkles will always return to their pre-treatment state.  Treatments can be repeated at a minimum of three monthly intervals, but the effects may last longer for some individuals, especially if they have had previous treatments to the same area.
