Vampire Facelift – Face Rejuvenation with PRP

Vampire Facelift – Face Rejuvenation with PRP

The Vampire Facelift also is known as Face Rejuvenation with PRP is a procedure developed for people who want healthy, youthful, and rejuvenated skin, but done quickly and without surgery. This procedure is able to do this by harnessing your own body’s healing and regenerative properties. The Vampire Facelift is an outpatient procedure, and results can be experienced on the same day, with the continual benefit of skin regeneration lasting for months—even over a year—after the procedure.

The Vampire Facelift is actually not a surgical facelift at all, but rather a type of skin treatment using the body’s own natural healing and growth factors that are derived from your own blood (hence the name The Vampire Facelift), combined with a hyaluronic acid dermal filler. The procedure is a near painless series of injections into strategic areas of the face to reduce wrinkles, add youthful volume, and improve the quality of your skin.

You must follow certain instructions before the surgery to ensure that the procedure runs smoothly. Some of the major pre-op instructions include;

  1. Limit your sun exposure and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen, preferably SPF 50 at all times.
  2. You shouldn’t opt for any other skin care treatments for at least 6 weeks before the treatment.
  3. Stay away from blood thinners to avoid the risk of extreme bruising and scarring.
  4. Fill in all your prescriptions ahead of time.
  5. Avoid exfoliation before the treatment and do not use creams containing Retin A.

Initially, a small amount of blood is drawn from your body using a syringe. The extracted blood is then spun in a centrifuge, which helps the doctor to obtain the platelet-rich plasma (The star of the treatment). Your skin is cleansed to remove any dirt, debris, and makeup residue. Afterward, a numbing cream is applied to your skin to minimize the discomfort caused by the injections. The PRP is administered to your skin via micro-injections at different points. To conclude the treatment, the surgeon might apply a cooling cream/gel to soothe the skin.

Post-operative Care

  1. For at least 6 hours, do not touch the treated area
  2. For up to 2 weeks, the treated area may feel firm, but it will soften over time, and you should see supple, younger skin. Call American Aesthetic Medical Center if you have any lumps or unevenness
  3. For 72 hours, do not scrub, exfoliate, or aggressively massage the treated area
  4. You may experience an itchy sensation and dryness of the treated area. You may use Vaseline or another moisturizer to ease these symptoms
  5. For up to 72 hours, you may experience mild discomfort and swelling. Over-the-counter pain medications can treat this but do not take aspirin because it thins the blood, which can cause complications
  6. You may use an ice pack to lessen discomfort, bruising, and swelling, but place a thin cloth-like a dishtowel between the ice pack and your skin and apply only in 5-minute intervals
  7. For 24 to 48 hours, we advise that you sleep on your back only, with your head somewhat elevated. This helps to lessen swelling and bruising.
  8. You may experience some bruising, which is normal. You may use makeup over these areas (but wait 6 hours after treatment before applying). Bruises disappear within a few days

  1. Improve tone, texture and brightness of skin
  2. Skin is firmed and tightened
  3. Wrinkles and lines are softened
  4. Skin’s rosy glow is restored
  5. Skin softness is increased
  6. Facial volume depletion can be improved
  7. Sun-damage, acne scars, Rosacea, dark circles and Hyperpigmentation are improved.
